

Born in 1964 in Bremen, Ben Becker is considered to be one of the most important actors in Germany.
Ben Becker became popular by playing many leading parts in cinema feature films such as Ein ganz gewöhnlicher Jude (2006) directed by Oliver Hirschbiegel (Der Untergang), Max und Moritz Reloaded (2005), Sass (2001) and Frau2 sucht Happy End (2001), where a song performed by Becker was included on the soundtrack. He also played in three films directed by Joseph Vilsmaier: Marlene (2000), Comedian Harmonists (1997) and Schlafes Bruder (1994). Other films in the nineties with Becker were: Der Einstein des Sex (1999) Gloomy Sunday – Ein Lied von Liebe und Tod (1998).
Ben Becker is not only a successful cinema - and TV – actor. In 1997 he started his musical career - together with Ulrik
Spies and Jacki Engelken - as Ben Becker & The Zero Tolerance. In 2000 he co-operated with Xavier Naidoo on the Sampler Rilke Project. Together with his band he has been lately successfully touring with his scenic readings of “The Seawolf“ or lyrics of Schiller and Kinski. Ben Becker, being a multi-talented and exceptional artist, was honoured for his achievements as an actor with many prices and awards such as: Golden Biber for Ein ganz gewöhnlicher Jude, Adolf Grimme price in gold for Totes Gleis (Tatort); Adolf Grimme price in silver for Landschaft mit Dornen, Golden Camera for Comedian Harmonists, Golden Curtain for playing Alfred Döblin’s Franz Biberkopf in Berlin, Alexanderplatz at Maxim Gorki Theatre, Berlin.
His latest Film Rote Zora directed by Peter Kahane will be released in spring 2007.
